A second date has been added to Leonard Cohen’s ‘A Day at the Hop Farm’ event.  The new show will be on Sunday 9th September (the day after his 8th September performance at the same site).

Organiser Vince Power in announcing the new Leonard Cohen exclusive UK date said it was “fantastic” to announce the second show which will be part of Leonard Cohen’s 2012 world tour (and the only UK dates this year). Tickets go on sale at 7am on Monday 21st May 2012  HERE.

It has been announced that Leonard Cohen is set to play just one UK live date this year at a new event ‘A Day at the Hop Farm’.

The outdoor event will take place on Saturday 8th September 2012 at The  Hop Farm in Kent (site of the established Hop Farm Festival).

Tickets are available to the general public  from 9am on Friday 13th April. Tickets are priced at  £65 seated and £85 standing.

This is the first album of new material from Leonard Cohen in 8 years.   The release  is his 12th studio album with Columbia Records since signing with them in 1967.

Old Ideas will be released  on CD, digital download and also 180 gram LP.

We were recently at the UK premier of the long awaited’ ‘Leonard Cohen Bird on a Wire’ film at the Green Man festival.

The film was introduced by Tony Palmer who described in detail the painstaking way the release had been put together.

The Leonard Cohen Bird on a Wire DVD (live in Europe 1972) is released on September 6th and can be purchased here.

The new CD and DVD ‘Live at the Isle of Wight 1970  is out now.
Nearly 40 summers ago on August 31, 1970, 35-year-old Leonard Cohen was awakened at 2 a.m. from a nap in his trailer and brought onstage to perform with his band at the third annual Isle Of Wight music festival. The audience of 600,000 was in a fiery and frenzied mood, after turning the festival into a political arena, trampling the fences, setting fire to structures and equipment – and stoked by the most incendiary performance of Jimi Hendrix’s career. As Cohen followed Hendrix’s set, onlookers (and fellow festival headliners) Joan Baez, Kris Kristofferson, Judy Collins and others stood side stage in awe as the Canadian folksinger songwriter- poet-novelist quietly tamed the crowd. Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Murray Lerner, whose footage of the 1970 festival did not begin to see release until 1995, was able to capture Cohen’s performance. This package is available in two formats. The DVD/CD contains the new documentary by Lerner and the full performance on CD. All tracks are previously unreleased (apart from bits of “Suzanne” which were featured in the documentary Message to Love, also by Lerner). Included are live versions of classic songs from the first two Leonard Cohen LPs: “So Long, Marianne,” “The Stranger Song,” “Hey, That’s No Way To Say Goodbye,” “Suzanne,” “Bird On The Wire,” “You Know Who I Am,” and “The Partisan”, as well as spoken word and poetry.

Our Leonard Cohen fan site is based in the UK.

Primarily the site will become a resource for articles about Leonard that have been published (over the years) in the UK press.

This site has gone through many ‘basic’ guises over the past few years.  We intend that this new updated site will become a genuinely useful resource for Cohen fans in the UK and beyond.  Other Leonard Cohen fans will soon be able to contribute to our archive and to help the site grow.

With the recent UK tours and festival appearances we will be updating the website with articles from the past two years shortly.

The site will also become a resource for Leonard Cohen fans in the UK to find and share information about Leonard.

We intend to be a resource for gig reviews, lyrics, photos, and links to other sites containing information about Leonard Cohen.
